Lawn Care Equipment - Easily Maintaining A Great Looking Lawn

When it comes to caring for lawns, there are a lot of things that one must have. This size of your yard will greatly affect what particular pieces of lawn care equipment you will need. Whether large or small, caring for your lawn will require certain things for you to use.

In the early spring months, usually sometime in late March or early April, you will see bags of fertilizer arriving in stores. These will contain weed control and promise you a lush green lawn. A piece of lawn care equipment necessary for the even application of such fertilizer is a fertilizer spreader. These come in a variety that you can use by hand or there is the broadcast spreader that you push around your yard as the fertilizer is spread evenly. If your yard is small, you may want to use a handheld spreader. If you have a large yard, a broadcast spreader will allow you to do the job in mere minutes. Whichever you choose, this piece of equipment, combined with the directions on the bag, will ensure that you do not spread too much which would result in you killing your grass.

As the coolish days of spring turn into the warm and hazy days of summer, you'll want to make sure that your lawnmower is in proper working order and that your trimmer or edger is also running well. It's a good idea to have the blade on your lawnmower sharpened at the start of each season, even if it's only a year old. A dull blade will not be as efficient as a sharp one that will result in you cutting your lawn more often than necessary. If you're using a trimmer, be sure that there is plenty of line to replace what gets used on each trim. When using an edger to create straight edges along your sidewalks, be sure to start the edger a few times and run it to make sure it's working properly. This may also be something you will want to have the blades sharpened on. This cuts not only grass, but a lot of dirt and debris as well, sharpening the blade will ensure it will continue to do a good job for you.

Other pieces of lawn care equipment that you may need for your lawn care would be insect killers for those with problems with ants, grub killers for those with grubs in their lawn, or lawn and week killers for those areas on the sidewalk, driveway, or among the landscape that stray grass will show up in sometimes. These usually come in the form of sprays to be applied in combination with water from your garden hose.

Caring for your lawn can take several pieces of equipment. It certainly requires attention and care. Caring for the lawn care equipment that does all that will ensure a lawn you can be proud of.
